Community Center Elementary and Teen After-School Programs

Your child can experience countless benefits from participating in our after-school program, which takes a holistic approach to students through activities engaging their mind, body, and character. We strive to complement the school system and create a safe and positive environment for a student’s success.

Elementary School Programs

Grades: K5 – 5th 
When:
 Monday – Friday
Time:  2:15pm – 6:00pm
Locations: Brutontown, Freetown,  Mt. Pleasant, Phillis Wheatley, Slater Hall, Sterling, Staunton Bridge

Cost: $70 per month Aug 2023 thru May 2024.
(limited transportation will also be available for $52 per month!)

A non-refundable $50 registration fee per student is required per enrollment.

Teen Leadership Programs

Grades: 6th – 8th
When: August 2023 to May 2024
Time:  3:15 pm to 6:00 pm
Locations:  Mt. Pleasant and Sterling Centers
Cost:  $40 monthly. A non-refundable $50 registration fee per student is required per enrollment.

Transportation

Limited transportation by Greenville County Rec is available from schools to select community centers. Contact center managers for more information.

Transportation is available for an additional fee from Duncan-Chapel, Cherrydale, and Berea Elementary Schools.

There are some school bus routes that drop off at/near the center.  Check with staff for previous list of schools and then contact the individual schools for up-to-date information.

Transportation is available for an additional fee from Blythe, Robert E. Cashion, Sara Collins, Sue Cleveland, and Thomas E. Kearns Elementary Schools.

Greenville County Rec Community Centers partner with the following agencies (and many more!)

  • United Way of Greenville County – provides resources to ensure that after-school programs throughout Greenville County offer quality activities and services in a safe, engaging and fun environment for students and their families.
  • LiveWell Greenville – a network of organizations partnering to ensure access to healthy eating and active living for every Greenville County resident.
  • Upstate Circle of Friends – provides a daily snack for students in the after-school programs through the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program).
  • South Carolina Recreation and Parks Association – an organization comprised of park and recreation professionals throughout the State of South Carolina who are committed to “Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs.”
