Greenville County Rec’s nine Community Centers are dedicated to serving the local community by providing quality enrichment programs, events and activities that help promote a healthy, active lifestyle for all ages. A description of services and programs offered at our community centers can be found below. Greenville County Rec Community Centers offer a variety of core programs at each facility:
Live, learn and grow! Affordable after-School programs are available at all community centers for children in grades K(5) – 5th. Our employees are well trained to provide quality programming in a safe, structured environment. Students will learn life skills such as flexibility, initiative, social skills, productivity, and leadership. Snack, homework time, educational speakers, sports, games, and crafts are just a few of the activities offered. Pick-up from local schools is available at most locations.
Spring Break Camp
Need a break? Join the fun for spring break at one of your local community centers. There will be games, arts-n-crafts, sports and much, MUCH more! Come join the FUN!
At summer camp with Greenville Rec, students will continue to work on the life skills learned during the academic year, including flexibility, initiative, social skills, productivity, and leadership. During a typical week at camp, children will get to swim, play games, complete arts & crafts projects, and take a field trip. Field trips will include visits to Greenville Rec Waterparks. Lunch and afternoon snack are provided daily.
Elementary camps are available for children ages 6-11 who are entering 1st-6th grades.
Teen Summer Vacation Programs are available at for students ages 12-15 who are entering grades 7th-9th. Teen Campers will participate in a variety of activities, workshops, and events that will work on eight (8) core life and career skills: communication, food, money, clothing, at-home, car, career development, and community service. Teens will learn everyday life skills to help them become happy, productive adults in a safe, fun and relaxed environment called CAMP. Teens will continue to participate in a variety of recreation activities as well, such as sports & games, arts & crafts, special events, recreational and educational field trips (including trips to the waterpark), motivational speakers and much more.
Greenville County Rec Community Centers provide programming for adults ages 50+ that is designed to offer opportunities to make friends and have fun. Participating in senior activities is a great way to stay active, social and healthy. Details about programming for each individual community center can be found on the community center’s respective page.
Senior programs are offered at the following community centers:
Gyms, Activity Rooms, Shelters, & Meeting Rooms: Mt. Pleasant, Sterling, Slater Hall, Brutontown, and Freetown offer gyms ideal for socials, receptions, and athletic events. Activity rooms are available for smaller gatherings like showers and birthdays. Happy Hearts, Piney Mountain and Woodfield offer activity rooms that can accommodate up to 50 people. Staunton Bridge’s activity room can accommodate up to 100 people. .
All rentals require a three hour minimum.
