Day Camp Overview

Greenville Rec’s summer day camps are offered at various locations throughout the Greenville County.  There are several types of camps to chose from based on cost and ages served. .Greenville County Rec is honored to be a “Partner in Prevention” with the Darkness to Light – Stewards of Children Training Program which teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  All Greenville Rec full-time and part-time program staff are trained in this program.

Summer 2015

Camp Kaleidoscope

2015 will be a great summer with Greenville County Rec. Our goals for camp are very simple; Keep the campers safe & make them smile! All field trips, pizza parties, and waterpark trips are included in your fee. Our campers will enjoy all of our typical activities; swimming, game playing, and arts & crafts projects. And some not-so-typical activities like; messy counselor day, Christmas in July, Twins day, and more. Our swimming trips will include Discovery Island Water Park, Otter Creek Water Park, 7th Inning Splash Water Park and Westside Aquatic Center. Field trips will have visits to Gattitown, the Greenville Drive, and bowling & skating.

Conestee Camp

Lake Conestee Nature Park is one of the greatest natural resources in South Carolina. Our week will include exploration of almost all of the 400+ acres that the park encompasses. Campers will also enjoy a trip to a local waterpark and one more field trip.

Tennis Camp

Learn to play or improve your skills at tennis camp at the Pavilion with our professional tennis instructors who have more than a decade of experience. Instill a love of tennis  while they learn in a fun, friendly environment.

Mountain Bike Camp

Do you have adventurous kids who want to hit the trails? This camp is designed to teach them how to handle all that our local mountain bike trails have to offer. The camp is based at Gateway Park which features the Bike Skills Flow Park. The Park offers mountain bikers a progression of trails with various challenges and terrains designed to introduce riders to the sport and sharpen their skills.

We will also cover skills like; proper riding position, proper gearing & braking, and some basic mechanical items. We will take day trips to following locations: Paris Mt. State Park, Issaqueena Lake Trail, and Dupont State Park. Additionally we will visit Otter Creek & Discovery Island Waterparks. (Camper numbers: minimum 15- max 25)

Camp Pavilion

Send your child to join in the fun at Camp Pavilion this summer!  Each summer our kids look forward to coming to camp to enjoy games, crafts, field trips, and developing relationships with counselors and friends.  Each week we visit one of our fantastic water parks as well as travel on an additional field trip.  Field trips in previous years have included visits to Frankie’s, the Greenville Drive, bowling & skating, and Gravitopia.  All field trips are included in the cost of camp. .

Wanderers Teen Camp

The Wanderers Teen Camp is a great place for teens that enjoy making friends and want lots of activity. The fee includes the cost for all field trips. Last summer, the Wanderers produced their own talent show, visited local soup kitchens, swam once a week, and had a video game tournament. The campers also enjoy weekly local field trips as well as 4 BIG field trips. The big trips in 2013 were to Lake Lanier Water Park, Carowinds, Six Flags and the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. .

Community Center Summer Vacation Camps

All field trips are included in your fee. A typical week for our campers will see them: swim, play games, complete arts & crafts projects, and take a field trip. Field trips will include visits to Greenville Rec Waterparks and the Pavilion. Lunch is provided.
