Mountain Bike Camp
2017 Registration Begins Monday, February 6, 2017
Do you have adventurous kids who want to hit the trails? This camp is designed to
teach them how to handle all that our local mountain bike trails have to offer.
For both of the camp options we have this year the following is required:
- Well-functioning Mt. Bike (a BMX style bike will not work for the terrain we will be covering)
- Full lunch with 2 snacks and water bottle each day
Please see our descriptions below to pick which camp is best for your child.
Mountain Bike Camp: Beginner
Dates: July 19-21
Ages: Boys & Girls 6-10
So you have this awesome mountain bike, what next? This 3 day camp is designed to teach basic mountain bike skills: shifting, bike anatomy, climbing, etc. We will use the trails and challenges at Gateway Park to instruct the campers with a trip on Friday to the Town Creek Bike Park in Pickens as our big trip.
Mountain Bike Camp: Advanced
Dates: July 24-28
Ages: Boys & Girls 9-13
You have conquered a lot of our local trails and now you want a true test. This week-long camp is built to look for your limits and help you surpass them. We will use the trails and challenges of Gateway Park to get ready for our 3 or 4 trips during the week. We will look at trails like Dupont State Forest, the Issaqueena trials, and possibly The Tsali trails system Near Lake Fontana. Admission to this camp will require the rider to complete a questionnaire about their riding experience.
(Camper numbers: minimum 15- max 20)
