Policy For Dogs Not in a Dog Park

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to establish policy concerning dogs in parks and on trails.

General Park Rules: Control: The handler / owner is responsible for keeping his/her dog under control by leash no more

than 6 feet in length, and for all action and behavior of the dog while on park or trail property. Clean-Up: The handler / owner is responsible and must possess the tools required for clean-up and

disposal of dog waste.

Dog Restricted Areas: Due to health and safety concerns as well as programmed use of park and trail property, dogs are not permitted in the following areas:

Within playgrounds On athletic field playing surfaces Wetland areas Habitat conservation areas Other areas as designated by signage.

Dog Parks:

Designated Dog Parks and Exercise and Training Areas: GreenvilleRec has designated dog parks where dogs may be off-leash for exercise and training. These areas have specific owner responsibilities. Please refer to that policy.

Pelham Mill Dog Park: 2770 E. Phillips Rd., Taylors SC, 29615 Service Animals: Service dogs are exempt from the limitations while in the performance of their duties.
