Gene Smith, Executive Director

Gene, a Clemson graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation and Park Administration, brings 28 years of recreation management to the District. His professional career began in 1974 when he served as Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Mauldin. Prior to his current position he served as the District’s Director of Maintenance and Development.  A Greenville native and avid outdoorsman, Gene is married with two children and a grand daughter.
