The FUN ZONE is here to stay at Westside Aquatic Center this Saturday, May 19th. Come play on our new inflatable obstacle course, complete with slide, climbing feature, and catapult! The FUN ZONE SWIM is offered in the competition pool from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 3:00 to 5 pm every Saturday afternoon!
Ages 5+ are welcome for this swim time and all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must wear a life vest (provided on a first-come,. first-serve basis). FREE for members and $10.00/person for the public; Groups of 25+ gain admission for $7.00/person.

Aquatic Safety Enhancements
1) To help ensure the safety of our Guests, everyone measuring less than 42″ in height must wear a US Coast Guard lifejacket and must be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian at all times.
2) Water Safety DSS (Department of Social Services) camper to counselor ratios will be enforced. (Commercial, Non-profit, or Government Child Care Providers)

3) “No Long Breath Holding Allowed” signage has been added to our existing rules to alert parents and caregivers to “Shallow Water Blackout”.

Life Jackets will be available on a first-come first-served basis; however, we encourage you to purchase your own life jacket so your child will be safe at your neighborhood pool, the lake, or the river.
If you purchase a US Coast Guard Approved life jacket before July 4 at REI or Sunrift Adventures, they will give you a free waterpark pass.

History of Westside Park and Aquatic Center
The Greenville County Recreation District acquired this site on West Blue Ridge Drive in 1969 and developed it with a combination of federal and local funding. It was one of the first two parks in the District and featured South Carolina’s only indoor 50 meter public swimming pool complete with diving well. The pool was enclosed in 1992 and is still the only 50 meter public swimming facility in the State. Today the pool is home to Team Greenville, a 200 member plus competitive swim team sanctioned by USA Swimming. Every summer the facility hosts the Swim Association Invitation League (SAIL) Championship and Classic meets. SAIL is one of the largest youth based volunteer organizations in the United States. Westside’s outdoor campus offers athletic fields, a playground, and picnic shelters. (Web admin is running a test)
