Virginia Creeper Trail Bike Ride
We are offering a single day trip to one of the best parks in the Southeast for a point to point bike ride. On this trip we will visit the Virginia Creeper Trail in Abington, Virginia. Riders will be able to enjoy all the beauty and serenity of this nationally renowned piece of the Appalachian Mountains. The ride is geared for folks 16 years and older. We provide lunch and snacks for the trip. We do our best to be a full service trip.
All day beginner trail ride for most abilities
When: Thursday, October 12, 2017 (please note, the date has changed from Oct. 19 to Oct. 12)
Cost: $75 per person
Depart: Greenville County Rec Admin office; 4806 Old Spartanburg Road Taylors, SC 29687 at 6:00am. Return around 9:00pm.
Who: 16 and older. If you enjoy riding the GHS Swamp Rabbit and especially enjoy a gentle downhill ride through the mountains, the Virginia Creeper Trail is for you!
What to Bring: Bike, helmet, & water. Snacks, camera, and other comforts recommended.
Includes: Transportation to Virginia, Snacks, Lunch, Trail Maps, and Support Riders.
This beginner bike ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail features crushed stone surface perfect for hybrid or mountain bikes and a gentle slope along an abandoned railroad right of way. Participants will load their bikes on our trailers, ride to the end of the trail on top of Whitetop Mountain on the VA-NC border, bike 20 miles downhill to lunch in Damascus, shuttle into Abingdon, and then bike 15 miles downhill back to Damascus before departing for Greenville at 5pm.
