Greenville County Rec Advisory Board

The Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism Advisory Board serves as the citizen advisory board to Greenville County on policy matters relating to the acquisition, development, maintenance, and operation of parks and recreation facilities operated by the Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department.  The Advisory Board advises Greenville County on all matters related to funding, programming, facility planning, and development of a strategic plan for the provision of parks and recreation services in Greenville County.  The Advisory Board serves as a liaison for County Council and the County Administrator to the citizens of the community, and works to promote parks and recreation throughout the County. All members of the seven-member Advisory Board must be residents of Greenville County.  Advisory Board members are appointed by Greenville County Council, serve three-year terms and receive no compensation.

Meetings

The Advisory Board meets no less than three times per year, on the second Tuesday at 12:00 pm at the Admin Office.  The meetings generally last about 1 hour.  Advisory Board members also serve on committees, which may meet in addition to the regular meetings.
